Japanese and Korean food are the two most common cuisine being served in Indonesia (excluding Chinese food), so it’s pretty safe to say that I have been accustomed to both. I came back from Japan this February, thinking that I have found the country with the best cuisine in the world. But when I came back from South Korea last month, I’m glad to say that Korean food has exceeded 500% way above the expectation I had. I’m not saying that it is now the best cuisine I’ve found, but it was definitely the number one highlight of my trip.
Autumn is always magical, but even magic has its own level of amusement. When traveling Asia in search for autumn scenery, the ultimate choices were Japan and Korea – unquestionably. The decision landed to Korea simply because I haven’t been there before, and having heard reviews from some of my friends, I came there with a properly managed expectation. It did happen, that every minute of my eight days stay in Korea fully exceeds every expectation and standardized prejudice I have set prior. And since I came there to witness the beauty of the season, I’m happy to share with you the peak moment of amusement I experienced while I was there: visiting Nami Island.
